How will my Results be Provided?

Your scan results, along with the radiologist's comments, will be securely emailed to you within 3 business days. A physical copy of the results can also be mailed to your address for your convenience.

What if my Scan Results are Abnormal?

If an abnormal finding is detected on your scan, the radiologist will typically provide a recommendation. If a lesion appears suspicious for cancer, a biopsy will generally be advised. However, if the finding is more likely to be benign, we may ask you to return for a follow-up scan in about 60 days. This will allow us to reassess the area, measure any changes, and determine whether a biopsy is necessary or if monitoring is sufficient. This approach helps prevent unnecessary biopsies, overdiagnosis, and overtreatment.

Does the QT Scan Replace Mammograms?

Not at this time. The QT scan is designed to complement mammography, particularly for women with dense breasts or unclear results. It provides extra detail that can help reduce unnecessary call-backs and biopsies.

How Long does the Scan take?

The exam itself usually takes 10–15 minutes per breast, plus a few minutes for positioning. After discussion and exam, the appointment can take around 45 minutes to 1 hour and a 1/2. You’ll be lying comfortably while your breast rests in a warm water bath.
